Saturday was Parent Teacher Conferences at KV Pushp Vihar. Ms. Poonam had a list of all the students’ grades for all their classes and parents passed around the sheet so they could see the grades for their son/daughter. Most conferences were in Hindi and Poonam had several students helping her collect information from the parents, including phone numbers, how they came to school (walking, auto rickshaw, bus, etc), and important comments. Throughout the morning, I listened in on conferences but also had time to talk with some of the student helpers. Throughout this morning I was able to take a tour of the student bathrooms and some of the beautiful bulletin boards around the building. Pictures are to the left and below. |

I'm surprised to see that the bulletin board is in English!

Poonam is an English teacher, so all her bulletin boards are in English! All students take Hindi, English, and a third language like German or Sanskrit.
